The fires near Boulder Colorado not only destroyed the homes of hundreds of residents but came uncomfortably close to the Rocky Flats radioactive contamination zone. Plutonium fires there in the 1950s and 1960s contaminated large swaths of land with radioactive elements which are now being resuspended into the air by fires, creating a new inhalation hazard in the surrounding areas. Plutonium is not safe for humans and is a forever toxin once produced. It can never be completely contained and must be eliminated from the earth. It is not by accident that it is named after the God of the Underworld.
